Gîtes de France Calvados offers 2 types of travel insurance to help you deal with unforeseen circumstances before or during your stay: one with reimbursement on presentation of proof, the other with no proof required.
We know that the unexpected can happen to anyone, so we strongly recommend that you take out our cancellation insurance to make your holiday more secure.
In partnership with Meetch, we offer cancellation insurance that is easy to use and quick to respond to (cancellation claims are processed within 48 hours by Meetch). The 2 cancellation insurance options we offer provide protection against unexpected incidents, enabling you to recover the costs incurred for your holiday in the event of cancellation.

You will benefit from Repatriation Assistance for the duration of your stay.

How much does cancellation insurance cost ?
How much does it cost? Don't panic, it's calculated according to the total amount of your rental.
If you opt for Meetch Multirisk Insurance, the cost of this insurance is 5.5% of the total amount of your rental.
If you opt for Meetch Multirisque Premium insurance, the cost of this insurance is 9.5% of the total amount of your rental.
There are no surprises on the horizon: everything is clearly indicated at the time of booking.
How do I cancel or interrupt my holiday ?
In case of cancellation of your stay for a reason covered by our cancellation insurance, please contact our booking agency as soon as possible to initiate your claim.
1) Please contact our reservation agency Gîtes de France Calvados as soon as possible to inform them of your cancellation or interruption of your stay at reservation@gites-de-france-calvados.fr, indicating that you are cancelling your stay and quoting the references of your contract.
2) The Gîtes de France Calvados team will cancel your holiday and open a file with the Meetch insurer.
3) We send you a link to the Meetch website and within a maximum of 5 days from the date of your cancellation, you must submit your request for reimbursement online (a simple, clear and quick form). You will be asked to provide your bank details.
4) The cancellation fees will then be reimbursed directly by Meetch insurance.
Service fees and cancellation insurance will not be refunded.
Who can benefit from our insurance ?
The Insured must be domiciled in France, in the DROM- ROM COM and sui generis collectivities or in Europe.
How do I take out cancellation insurance ?
Cancellation insurance is optional and can be taken out when you book your holiday. All you have to do is tick the corresponding box when you book online, or ask our advisors by telephone or e-mail when you book.
What are your obligations to the insurer ?
- ·When you take out a cancellation insurance policy :
The Insured must pay the premium.
The Insured must answer all the questions asked by the Insurer, in particular on the declaration form, to enable the Insurer to assess the risks covered.
- In the event of a claim :
For insurance cover, the Insured must declare the claim within 5 working days of the event giving rise to the cover.
Under assistance cover, the Insured must contact the assistance centre and obtain its prior agreement before taking any initiative or incurring any expense.
In all cases, the Insured must provide the Insurer with all supporting documents necessary for the implementation of the insurance cover and assistance services provided for in the contract.

What do I do if I have to cancel my holiday and I didn't take
out cancellation insurance when I booked ?
If you have to cancel your holiday but you did not take out cancellation insurance, the general terms and conditions of sale will apply. In other words :
- cancellation up to and including the 21st day before the start of the holiday: the deposit will be retained
- cancellation between the 20th and 8th day inclusive before the start of the stay: 50% of the rent and the amount of the services directly linked to the stay will be retained
- cancellation between the 7th and 2nd day inclusive before the start of the holiday: 75% of the rent and the cost of services directly linked to the holiday will be retained
- cancellation the day before or on the day of arrival originally stipulated in the contract or no-show: no refund will be made.
